“Side”

I never liked picking a side,
where you choose one narrative to a story.
There could be so many endings,
which were led by so many whys.

How could you assume?
If they were truly always one side,
how could you be left with so many different questions marks?
So many blank spaces?
So many differing details or the lack thereof?

Call me whatever you will,
but I’ll choose to believe there’s more to the story.
I won’t jump rope to either side,
because many want to admit they’re right,
but who will willingly say they’re wrong?

Who in their “right mind” would want to take accountability for their own harm?
Much less hurting another?
I’m not dictating for anyone not to take a stand,
I’m only sharing…
I never liked picking a side,
where you choose one narrative to a story.
